How to protect your home from colours during Holi

Holi, the festival of colour brings to your life a fresh wave of joy. But it has the after-effects – unwanted colour splashes. Below are some of the places which you can protect during the festival.

Walls:
Walls are the most effective parts of your home during holi. In order to keep them safe from the colours, apply a coat of anti-stain varnish that would protect the wall from the stains.

Door:
Doors are sensitive to stains and water, if it’s wooden. Apply mustard oil on the doors and remove the colour stains. The doors will be clean and shiny like ever.

Floor:
Floors are one of the most affected areas during Holi. In order to make them stain-free and slippery-free. Just add water with baking soda and make paste out of it. Dry it for some time and remove the stains by rubbing it.

Furniture:
Cover your furniture like dining table, kitchen cabinet, upholstery etc with old bed sheets and newspapers. You can clean wooden furniture. Just use a cotton ball, soak it in water or lime juice and rub the stains.

Bathroom:
After playing holi, the first thing that you will do is enter the bathroom and take a bath. Use petroleum jelly and liquid detergents on the bathroom tiles and it’s accessories for removing the stains.
