Choose your cushion to match your style

Cushions hold a new place in home décor. Adaptive and diverse. They come in different patterns, sizes, textures and colours and levitate the home decor. Choosing them to match your style is of vital importance. Here are some of the factors that decide them.

Quantity:

It is one of the factors of choosing your cushion to match your style. According to many home décor experts, it is best to use odd number of them in your décor in order to be more modern in outlook. In even numbers, it is just the opposite.

Size:

Many people around the world use cushions which are 18X18 or 20X20 inches in size which are squared-sized. Many stylists feel that the same size of the cushion appears to be boring to the on-lookers. Mixing the sizes of the cushions adds depth to the home décor.

Room:

Large cushions in a small room will make the room very appear small and the big ones vice versa.

Type of Interiors:

The interior of your house decides the theme and type of cushion that you want to use. Whether it is modern, vintage, gothic or even fushion, these factors are significant in choosing them.

 Position of cushions:

Whether you want to put them on your upholstery, bed or even on your carpets. This decides the choosing of your cushions.

Cushion Covers:

They beautify the décor of your cushions and home. According to home décor experts, the size of the covers should be smaller than the cushions. It is so because these helps to maintain the flabby size of the cushions.

Fabrics:

One of the factors for choosing your cushion. Fabrics like cotton, silk, leather, synthetic and acrylic are some of the most used types. Silk fabric is strong and adaptive according to the home décor style. It is long lasting if not exposed to sunlight. This fabric is used only in high-end cushions. The extremely popular, cotton is strong and versatile in quality. But it is also very wrinkling in texture. Wool, a natural fibre is suitable for all climates and easily adapts to different room temperatures. It also takes a lot of maintenance.  Linen, also a natural fiber, comes in a variety of textures. It ages well and does not fade away from light. Leather and acrylic are also great in quality and texture and are durable in nature.

There is no blueprint that one should follow. It all comes down to your taste and creativity. At the end of the day, it’s your home and you deserve to feel blessed.
