An eco-friendly way to celebrate Diwali

The festival of lights brings joy into the lives of those who observe it. But it also brings in a lot of pollution and causes immense distress and harmful effect to the people and animals. This year, it’s time to change things. Here are ways to celebrate a clean, green and delightful Diwali.

Lighting your home:

Apply lighting on your walls. Light candles and put jute lanterns in your windows. Use lighting items with a variety of colours. This will give a new, different and exciting look to your home.

Home décor:

Home décor forms a primary part of celebrating Diwali or any other festival for that matter. Apply rangolis to your floors for a more elegant and traditional touch to your home.

Go earthy:

Enjoy Diwali this year by going the ‘earthy’ way. Decorate your home with Diyas for that ‘traditional’ feeling. You can also add lamps made of Jute to for a more earthy touch.

Distribute sweets:

There is a famous saying that goes ‘‘Sharing with someone brings more happiness to ones’ life’’. We Indians should comply by this practice. Celebrate this festival by sharing food and sweets with your loved ones and the underprivileged. Decorate your thaali with lustrous yummy sweets that satisfies the tummies of your loved ones.

Distribute organic gifts:

Distribute organic gifts such as herbal soups, gourmet tea and coffee and eco-friendly home linens to your loved ones.

We wish you a prosperous Diwali and hope that you create a trend of spreading happiness to others and yourself. Please do your part in spreading these cool eco-friendly décor ideas for a pollution free Diwali.
